ICONIC Trial Launching This Month (NCT07487805)
This is ivermectin not fenbendazole.
A Phase II randomized trial (ICONIC) investigating ivermectin combined with immune checkpoint inhibitors in 80 patients with solid tumors is estimated to start in July 2026. While this is ivermectin (not fenbendazole), it's the first formal Phase II trial of an antiparasitic + immunotherapy combination. Results anticipated in late 2027. If positive, it will create a halo effect for fenbendazole. We’ll monitor and post the trial enrollment announcements.
This is a Phase II clinical study launching this summer at the University of Florida. It is evaluating how the drug ivermectin works when combined with immune-checkpoint inhibitors (a type of treatment that helps the body’s immune system fight cancer) in adult patients with advanced solid tumors. Quick Facts About the ICONIC Trial
Status: Actively preparing to recruit up to 80 patients.
What it Does: Tests different dosing strategies of ivermectin given alongside standard immunotherapy.
Why it Matters: Researchers want to see whether the drug can safely modify the immune system to make cancer treatments more effective.
Track the Trial: You can review the full study rules, goals, and future locations on the ClinicalTrials.gov Study NCT07487805 page. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
